On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Guadeloupe was struck by an unusually intense thunderstorm. Lightning directly hit the technical hangar of Saint-Barth Executive at Pôle Caraïbes Airport, as well as an aircraft belonging to the Air Inter Iles fleet, operated by the airline.
Thanks to strict and proven safety protocols, teams immediately contained the risks. No injuries were reported, and all preventive measures worked as intended. As a precaution, the affected aircraft was grounded immediately and will undergo thorough technical inspections in coordination with the manufacturer and relevant aviation authorities.
Since the fleet is distributed across several bases, flight operations continue as normal. Some routes may see slight schedule adjustments, which will be communicated to passengers individually.
More than a regulatory requirement, safety is part of Saint-Barth Executive’s DNA. Every event is handled with the transparency and professionalism expected from a leading player in French air transport. This commitment is reflected in rigorous maintenance, a modernized fleet, and continuously trained teams ready to respond to emergency protocols.
Air Inter Iles was recently recognized as the first TECNAM-certified maintenance center in the Caribbean, further strengthening its ability to anticipate and effectively manage this type of incident, just like St Barth Executive, which holds the Pilatus Authorized Center certification for the Caribbean region.
Saint-Barth Executive wishes to reassure all customers, partners, and staff: safety remains its highest priority.
